Hello and welcome! You've found more than a coloring book. You've found a community built on the belief that childhood should feel magical. This is how it all began.

It started with a simple idea...

What if learning felt like an adventure instead of a lesson?

I'm Ali... an Aussie nutritionist living in Hawaii with my Texan husband and our golden retriever, Apollo. I have twelve nieces and nephews (yes, twelve!), which means I've had a front-row seat to childhood in all its messy, magical, unpredictable glory. I've watched picky eaters become adventurous. I've seen shy kids blossom with confidence. And I've learned firsthand that the right approach can make wellness feel like wonder instead of work.

A couple of years ago, I wrote a children's book.

And while I didn't plan to start a business, I did see a need that I could no longer ignore.

As a nutritionist working with women and families, I kept seeing the same struggle play out: parents desperately wanted their kids to eat well, be kind and develop healthy habits... but most resources felt preachy, overwhelming or like one more thing on an already endless to-do list.

I wanted something different. Something that made fruits, veggies and kindness feel like magic, not medicine (OR another lecture ha!). Something that met kids exactly where they already are... curious, creative and endlessly open to wonder.

That's when I decided to write a story that would inspire little ones to eat their fruits and veggies and be kind, while also raising money for children battling cancer. It was both a passion project and an experiment in making wellness feel joyful rather than stressful.

And then something unexpected happened.

Families connected with it. Educators reached out. And retailers across six continents started carrying it. The book even won two awards (which still makes me tear up!).

But more than the accolades, it was the messages that changed everything.

Parents telling me about bedtime conversations the book sparked. Kids asking to read "just one more page". Teachers sharing how it helped shy and anxious students giggle with their classmates... Families creating rituals around the stories.

I realized this was bigger than just one book. There was a real hunger, almost a longing, for children's products that felt playful, values-driven and genuinely helpful without being overwhelming.

Parents didn't need more guilt or pressure. They needed tools that made intentional parenting feel joyful, not exhausting.

That's when Maddy & Apollo truly began.

The magic of coloring. The magic of childhood.

Today, Maddy & Apollo is built on a simple belief: childhood should feel magical.

Not rushed. Not optimized. Not rambunctiously scheduled.

Magical.

We create story-based coloring books that turn important topics, like healthy habits, caring for our planet and social-emotional learning, into magical adventures kids genuinely love. Every book is grounded in childhood development research from organizations including Harvard's Center on the Developing Child, the American Academy of Pediatrics and CASEL (which is the world's leading authority on social-emotional learning), but designed to feel like pure wonder and play.

Because here’s what I’ve learned, both as a nutritionist and as an aunt: kids don’t need us to make learning feel like work. They need us to meet them where they already are... in that sweet spot where curiosity lives, where crayons solve problems and where a good story can change how they see the world.

Our books aren’t just educational. They’re invitations to slow down. To be present. To create those cozy, screen-free moments where real connection happens and memories are made.

And the best part? Every book gives back. Our original storybook (the one that started it all) gives 100% of proceeds to children fighting cancer, and every coloring book gives 50% of proceeds to animal rescue and conservation... If we can create a little magic in your home, we want to share it with kids and animals who need it most.

For the Intentional Parent

If you’re here, I’m guessing you’re the kind of person who thinks deeply about the childhood you’re creating.

You want your kids to grow up healthy... but not obsessed with perfection.

You want them to be kind... but not at the expense of their own needs.

You want them to care about the world... but still feel safe and joyful in it.

And you want to give them a childhood filled with wonder, creativity and those quiet moments they’ll carry with them forever.

That’s exactly who we created Maddy & Apollo for.

Not for the parents chasing perfection (because honestly, who has the energy?). But for the ones showing up with intention, doing their best and trying to raise little humans who are healthy, kind and endlessly curious about the world around them.

Thank You for Being Here

Truly. Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or just discovered us today, thank you.

Thank you for caring about childhood the way you do. Thank you for choosing intention over convenience, connection over content and magic over more.

Thank you for trusting us with your family’s precious time.

I’m endlessly grateful to play even a small part in helping you raise healthy, kind and curious little humans. Every order, every photo you share and every message you send truly makes me smile.

Here’s to the cozy afternoons. The thoughtful questions. The colorful masterpieces proudly displayed on the fridge. The moments when time slows down and it’s just you and them, present and together.

Here’s to all the magical moments still to come.

With so much gratitude,

Ali... Founder, Maddy & Apollo
